Best Answer: Well Walmart doesn't allow it unless it is a service dog. Although I have golden retrievers, and whenever my dad goes to lowes or home depot I take one of them with me and take them there. It is permitted in lowes and home depot where I live, all of the people that work there love to come over and pet my dogs. It is really great for socialization, and really great for one of my goldens because he is going to be a therapy dog soon and the loud noises and big machines are great training for him. Then we go to petsmart or petco, whichever is closer. =] So I would definately check with your lowes and home depot's and if there are no signs on their sliding doors that say no animals, than YES I would definately let your dog go in with you, great socialization! Unless, she is afraid of people and would bite, because i would find it hard to say no to a little kid that wants to pet your dog (my dogs wouldn't bite ever, i was just saying for you as a precaution. =]) Good luck! =] Edit: also walmart and frys and safeway don't have a problem with me standing on their patio outside the doors with my dog while my mom goes into the store (just make sure it is kinda cool out) One of the store workers came outside to pet my dog and said I could sit on their for sale furniture while I waited. =] I do this every once in a while and my dogs get lots of pets, (especially by kids, which is again good for socialization) Although sometimes people give me these looks (but I just smile at them and act like they never did lol). They just won't let you bring them into the store *sigh* oh well =]. Service and therapy dogs yes in any store per the ADA.
